Contemporary Impressionist / Designer

“A beautiful painting is the perfect gift for that special person in your life”

Lorraine Skelskey Chapin resides in Southbury, Connecticut. She is an Artist Member and serves on the Board of Directors for the Fine Line Art Gallery in Woodbury, Connecticut. She is an exhibiting artist at the PS Gallery in Litchfield, Barn Gallery in New Fairfield, the Gallery in Woodbury and the Lyme Art Association.

Painting for many years from life, Lorraine’s paintings are saturated with light and color. Her paintings of the landscape, still life, gardens, and animals reflect her ability to communicate the energy and unique atmosphere of a scene. She paints primarily impressionistic landscape in acrylic and oil. She brings life to her landscapes by modulating light, color and form. A Plein Aire painter, her passion is capturing scenery that speaks to the soul.

The artist is a Graduate of the University of Connecticut a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and holds an Associate’s Degree in Fine Art. I enjoy painting alone and also with fellow artists in plein air whenever possible. Member of SCAN, Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society, and the Lyme Art association.
