How to Get Rid of Dots Indicating a Space Between Words

It can be extremely annoying when you go to type in Word and after each character there appears a dot.  While there is no obvious option to get rid of them, the answer is easy.

How to Remove Dots Indicating a Space Between Words in Microsoft Word

  1. Click the “Music” symbol on the Home Ribbon.  If that does not do the trick, then click on File, Options and then Display.
  2. Go to the section “Always show these formatting marks…” and uncheck the Spaces options.
  3. Do the same for any other option you want to do not want.
  4. Click Okay and the dots should be gone.
