When you close the lid on your Mac Book or when the screen saver activates on the iMac, you need to re-enter the password every time! How can that be stopped?
Open Preferences, (the gear icon), and select Security and Privacy. On the General Tab, uncheck the first option: “Require password, (drop down box) after sleep or screen saver begins.” This will end the need for a password whenever you “wakeup” the system. This step is needed even if you had set the screen saver option to Never, (within the “Energy” Preference).
This is very different from removing a login password, which we do not recommend. Carefully consider the ramifications of not using password protection when making these choices.
