The latest iPhones (except for iPhone SE) use Face ID to unlock your device. Earlier versions of the iPhone could only recognize a single face, so anyone else who uses your phone would have to input a passcode to unlock your iPhone. Apple now lets you register multiple faces to unlock a single device. Here’s how to do it!
- Tap Settings
- Tap Face ID & Passcode
- Type in your passcode
- Tap Set Up an Alternate Appearance
- Scan your face and follow the prompts
One reason to do this is to safe guard your phone and all its data should you become incapacitated, or worse. The alternant face id should be someone you trust explicitly.
