Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change Word from showing two pages to one?

Go to the View tab on the ribbon and click One Page in the Zoom group. If Word still shows two pages side by side, set the zoom to 100% or click Page Width, and the document will display a single page at a time.

Why does Microsoft Word show two pages side by side?

Word automatically fits as many pages on screen as the zoom level allows, so when the zoom is low it shows two pages next to each other. Raising the zoom to 100% or choosing One Page on the View tab returns it to a single-page view.

How do I see only one page at a time in Word?

On the View tab, click One Page in the Zoom group. That forces Word to display exactly one page in the window no matter what the zoom level is set to.
