You would use account recovery if:

You forgot your password.

Someone changed your password.

Someone deleted your account.

You can’t sign in for another reason.

How to adjust your Gmail recovery options:

1) Use an email recovery address that is a trusted person, (child, friend or spouse).

2) Setup 2 Factor for recovery options and changes made to the Gmail account.          This will only be required if you sign out of your account instead of simply closing      the internet tab.

3) Use password manager to check password status.

These are the steps to setup proper recovery options for your email account:

1.  Go to your Google Account.

2.  On the left navigation panel, click Security & Sign-in.

3.  Look for Recovery Phone; click to change number.

·        Change your recovery phone: Next to your number, click Edit .

·        Delete your recovery phone: Next to your number, click Delete .

4.  Follow the steps on the screen.

3.  Under "Contact info," click Email   Recovery email. You might need to sign in.

 To update your recovery options for your Yahoo email, follow these steps:

Accessing the Yahoo Account Security Page

1.  Sign in to your Yahoo account.

2.  Navigate to the Yahoo Account Security page.

Adding Recovery Options

·        Under "Ways of signing in," you can add recovery emails or phone numbers.

·        Click on Add email or Add phone number.

·        Enter the new recovery information and follow the prompts to verify it.

Removing Recovery Options

·        On the Yahoo Account Security page, click on Phone numbers or Additional emails.

·        Locate the recovery option you want to delete.

·        Click the Trash icon next to it and confirm the removal.

Verifying Recovery Options

·        To verify a recovery option, click on Phone numbers or Additional emails.

·        Click Verify next to any unverified option and follow the prompts.
